Pasquale Festa Campanile's
The Libertine (the original title is
La Matriarca) is a 1968 Italian sex comedy but it's a world away from the average sex comedy of the 70s. This film is more a sophisticated, stylish, witty and very clever (and very funny) comedy of manners. It all starts when a young widow discovers her deceased husband's secret life and this starts her on a journey of self-discovery.
